TurboTax.com Development and Engineering (Intuit)

  • 5+ years of Front end development and Back end Engineering on TurboTax.com focused primarily on the Support section
  • Lead the team on website feature additions, code reviews, optimization, maintenance, etc.
  • Wrote Java, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS on the ATG eCommerce platform
  • Technical lead on several 3rd party and inter-Intuit software integrations
  • Implemented 50+ user experience tests (A/B tests)

TurboTax Support Customer Chat and Telephony Website Integration (Intuit)

  • This project was the major customer care initiative for TurboTax in 2011
  • My role was to work with the larger customer care organization to understand the business needs and new software platform capabilities
  • Updated the existing website contact us experience to connect to the new Interactive Intelligence customer service platform
  • Wrote Java, JSP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript to integrate with the new service in a way that allowed us to slowly ramp a controlled percentage of users from the legacy system to the new system
  • Over-saw the integration architecture of the customer facing website with an upgrade to the agent customer care phone and chat platform

Created a REST Web Service Exposing CMS Controlled Content (Intuit)

  • In an effort to speed development of Intuit new business initiatives my team enabled the reuse our existing content management system
  • I worked with engineers from another Intuit group to create web services allowing them to consume help content in json, xml, and/or html format
  • This allowed them to get their support website running quickly without infrastructure investments
  • I wrote documentation and how-to guides for both the technical team consuming the web service and content authors using the CMS

Lead Team Process Improvement Initiative (Intuit)

  • Seeing the need to stream-line our organization work flow processes I took the initiative enact improvements
  • First I coordinated a series of team meetings to discuss our existing problems and worked with the team to prioritize the top issues.
  • Once we had a consolidated list I worked with product ownership to create an action plan for addressing the highest impact issues.
  • This included documenting and creating improvements to the processes of work requests, prioritization, acceptance, development, testing, and release.
  • The team saw immediate improvements in communication and deployment of website features to production.
